Jonathan Kingslake · 2023 · 2023

This course is broad and covers a wide range of geologic topics from hydrology to minerals. The material is a general introduction to lots of different fields and is focused more on qualitative understanding than technical. My highlight of the class was a fieldtrip that we took to look at different rock formations outside of the city.

John Mutter · 2023 · 2023

The fundamentals of the solid earth - rocks, minerals, plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes, etc.

Sidney Hemming · 2025 · 2025

This class was a really good introduction to the basic principles of geology. After taking this class, when I go outside, I see the rocks and landscape around me with new eyes!

Steven Goldstein · 2025 · 2025

rock formation and types then the geologic history of the world around us specifically NYC

Sedelia Rodriguez · 2025 · 2025

saw rocks scientifically in my everday life

Anne Becel · 2024 · 2024

Learned about geology, earth systems, climate, etc.

John Mutter · 2023 · 2023

Very broad and overarching overview of earth science fields.

Sidney Hemming · 2025 · 2025

Lots of great info on geology from formation of the earth to rocks and minerals to geology natural disasters and water management. Good for people with or without a geology background.

Steven Goldstein · 2025 · 2025

I learned to distinguish between different minerals and rocks, geologic time, earthquakes.

Sedelia Rodriguez · 2025 · 2025

We covered many basic earth processes (glaciers, rivers, erosion, plate tectonics, seismic waves, earth's magnetic field) and properties of rocks and minerals.
