We covered many basic earth processes (glaciers, rivers, erosion, plate tectonics, seismic waves, earth's magnetic field) and properties of rocks and minerals.

I had no prior knowledge of any part of geology. I learned so much. Tons of information

Rocks, minerals, tectonic settings, geography of NY, etc.

We learned the basics of mineral and rock identification, as well as the function of solid earth processes, from a high level.

All about NYC geology, history of the Earth, geologic processes.

Because of the lab, I'm not sure id recommend this class to someone who wasn't required to take it. The professors are great and the topic is very interesting but the labs are hard. Also, the tests are very challenging and confusing

The field trips give students the opportunity to get outside rather than always being in a lecture hall, making it a much more fun and interesting class.

This course quite literally changed I viewed the world. I don't study anything STEM (I'm just a girl who loves rocks) and I absolutely loved this course and would recommend to anyone who has an interest.

I was required to take this class for my major but ended up enjoying it. The workload was manageable, the lecturers are good, and the TAs were helpful.
