Finishing reviewing Latin Grammar. Many types of Subjunctive clauses, sequences of tenses, special types of Ablatives, Genitives, and Accusatives. Relative Clauses. Indirect Statement. Indirect Questions. Many types of subordinate clauses.
Weekly quizzes (chill), 15% midterm, 30% take-home final, rest class participation. Twice a semester you have to turn in your workbook with exercises completed (took 5-6 hours, 2x in the semester to complete in one go). If you have little Latin experience, it will be much more work (obviously).
I learned a wealth of knowledge regarding Latin grammar, vocabulary, and structure.
We learned Chapter 9 to Chapter 15 of Learn to Read Latin in Elementary Latin II. We built upon things from the first semester, learning about things such as declensions 4 and 5, direct and indirect questions, and subjunctive in dependent clauses.
If you are looking for Latin, this is Latin without inordinate stress
Was super excited about Latin to begin with and had a great experience in Latin I but all he does is teach out of the textbook. Often when we ask clarifying questions, he does not know the answer or refers back tot he book. I do all the readings ahead of time and so if I have a question, restating what the book says is not helpful. He is obviously very smart but teaching is not his strong suit. I think he would be better at an upper level course.
