I learned a lot about the introductory concepts and ideas related to women and gender studies.
Excessive, especially for what you get out of it. - Around 70+ pages of reading per week - Midterm and final - 4 Short responses - 2 Event Reports
Lots of readings, short postings are acceptable, 3 short papers, and one final paper.
I agree with the previous reviewer - stay away at ALL costs! Run, don't walk, from this self-important, uninteresting woman! Her entire workload consists of her own writings which rarely relate in any way to the class itself. STAY AWAY!

Normally quite a lot of reading every week, along with a discussion post. 2 3-4 page essays, a midterm, group media project, and a final in class.
fine, a bit harshly graded but somebody has to fight the grade inflation!
Media file (not too bad), book report on autobiography of your choice, no midterm! take home final though, weekly reading journals as well
The class itself had oodles and oodles of reading - a gigantic coursepack, and then an additional gender/sexuality reader - however, this course is taught every fall and it depends upon the professor how much work will be given but definetely expect a ton of reading (the reading was so interesting and fun to read that you won't be complaining though); take-home final, three main essays (e.g. one being a study in which you go out in NYC and observe gender and how it works in that situation; another being reading a biography and analyzing it)
The reading selection is great, Beauvoir, Friedan, Meyerhoff, Fjeld... the list goes on. Two 7 page papers (that I swear are graded solely on font style) and a take home final (thats not all you'll want to take home).
