I learned a lot about the introductory concepts and ideas related to women and gender studies.

This course helped me deepen my understanding of women’s and gender studies. It was extremely engaging, and the slides provided during lectures were especially helpful in breaking down and clarifying the readings. Overall, it gave me a much stronger foundation in the subject and helped me connect theoretical ideas to real-world issues.

I got to read many interesting and impressive feminist works.

The class provided a very basic intro to the field, presenting basic but important ideas of intersectionality, etc. While it was nothing revolutionary, it did teach me to look for common trends within the texts we read, seeing how everything is a result of systemic oppression, colonialism, etc.

History of feminist and queer theory as well as prominent feminist thinkers and writers. Work by Judith Butler, Bell Hooks, and Audre Lorde.

Amazing class learnt a lot about the topic in general

I learned how to look at different perspectives and approach a topic from various angles.

I learned more about women, gender, sex, their intersections with politics, and the abolition movement.

This course provided me with a broad understanding of women and gender studies through the numerous perspectives offered by the readings.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in women’s and gender studies, or even to those simply looking to broaden their perspectives. It’s extremely well-structured, the material is engaging, and the discussions really push you to think critically. Even if your major is unrelated, the ideas and skills you learn in this course are valuable and widely applicable.
