What students said

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I learned general knowledge about different issues in sustainable development and frameworks for analyzing and assessing them.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I finally learned the step-by-step process of writing a proper research paper from start to finish, and how to create a complete bibliography. As far as the topics of the course, I learned ho to view ethics from multiple perspectives, including those of animals and the environment itself. Professor Gondek is an expert in her field, and she was very efficient in communicating the material, that I felt I became something of an expert as well. All her reading materials were relevant, current, informative, and challenged me to see sustainability from the social perspective, as well as the environmental, and political. I appreciate that she taught us to get outside our own bubble, and consider other perspectives when assessing solutions to current problems.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I learned about the - ethics of sustainable development - . It was a great great class, my favorite so far at this school, and very well structured. The structure makes it so that we go through different lens of thinking and assessing sustainability, and what it means to be sustainable.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

Sustainable development from an ethical point of view

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

Frameworks for determining the ethicality of different cases in sustainable development and whether our perspectives are correct

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I learned a lot about environmental ethics which is a field I’m not usually exposed to as a non philosophy person. I learned about different perspectives and the readings provided really interesting opinions that only added to the course

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I am leaving the course rather disappointed and confused, however I appreciated the breath of perspectives the readings exposed us throughout the semester. While perspectives were varied, very little to no in-depth knowledge was gained. As a skill, I've learned how to follow clear assignment instructions and follow the Chicago style manual.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I learned about a different side of environmentalism/sus dev that has to do with ethics.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

Thinking outside of my box. It was great exposure to different topics that I never really had any interest in or cared about, but the instructor helped me view the world differently.

Adela Gondek · 2026 · 2026

I learned an entirely new way of thinking to address climate change and environmental issues.
