Second Year Arabic is a course designed to enhance your fluency and accuracy by increasing your vocabulary and improving your manipulation of grammar. Your listening, speaking, reading and writing will go beyond the range of a simple sentence to that of a complex sentence and a paragraph. The course works with all four skills equally (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and culture. Arabic is the primary language of instruction.
I learned how to read, write, and speak Arabic in a more advanced setting, utilizing different grammatical structures and different tenses.
I learned about the meanings of the 10 grammar patterns and how to use them without having learned the English translation of each form of a word. Mastered the grammar and vocabulary of Al-Kitaab Part II, 2nd edition, Chapters 5 - 9 including ism moncoos, all the types of accusative, the imperative and the prohibitive, and Al- Hal.
I built on my second year I Arabic skills, and increased my knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and expressions.
We covered Intermediate Arabic from the Al-Kitaab textbook, as well as additional/expanded concepts. We covered reading and writing primarily, along with listening and speaking.
