I solidified grammar from Second Year I, learned vocab and grammar from the first 4 lessons of Al-Kitaab Book 2, practiced writing and learned how to write essays using an Arabic keyboard.
I learned more grammar and writing skills and advanced my understanding of vocabulary.
I furthered my use and grasp of the Arabic language.
This class is a continuation of the arabic language sequence - it is a little more focused on grammar than vocab than first year arabic classes were.
I really enjoy learning the intricacies of Arabic grammar, however it's not for the faint of heart and you will not learn to speak Arabic by taking this class, unfortunately.
The standard grammatical and conceptual material for SY1
This course was one of the highlights of my semester. I was extremely challenged, however, I feel as though I learned a lot and grew in my love for the language. There was a good balance between covering grammar concepts, practicing speaking, and writing skills.
I improved so much in Arabic! speaking, writing, detailed grammar, politics and the Arab universities, etc and general philosophy underpinning the language
I have thoroughly advanced my Arabic proficiency in all levels (grammar, vocabulary, written, spoken, etc.)
I would recommend it if they were willing to put in the work and time. This class is five credits and a huge time commitment, but extremely worth it and the professors want you to succeed.
