Learned how to speak, write, and read basic Hindi
I learned how to write in Hindi script, and basic vocab and sentence constructions. Also a bit of Indian culture.
Over the semester we learned the basic Devangari script of Hindi, basic Hindi reading comprehension, writing skills, Hindi grammatical structure, and creating basic and intermediate level sentences.
I learned a lot of HIndi! I feel comfortable with the basics and speaking conversationally, and feel acquainted with the script as well. Learned a lot more than I thought was possible in three weeks.
learned how to introduce myself, my likes/dislikes, talking about family, and more in Hindi. Also learned how to read/write in Hindi.
Basic vocab and grammar and the script in Hindi
I learned how to read and write in Devanagari script, and how to speak and understand spoken Hindi.
Managable HW assignments, but don't take if you don't REALLY want to learn Hindi. It's a great class, but lots (albiet not unmanageable) of work to memorize and keep up with the material if you aren't steeped in Indian culture and have a little knowledge of the language beforehand.
If you are someone that wishes to learn Hindi then you should take the course sequence especially with Professor Aftab who was extremely good at making sure we learned as much as we could in an easily digestible way.
