I learned SO much from this class. Prof. BEN TARIF IS A GEM. He is such a wonderful teacher, intelligent, kind-hearted and the best arabic teacher I had both at and beyond Columbia. I learned so much grammar I was weak in and didn't establish foundations for. All skills of speaking, writing, grammar, and reading were stressed. i do wish we did some more reading, but I think that is meant for the higher levels.

I learned so much about the Arabic language and culture in this course! Arabic grammar is extremely complicated and Professor Ben Tarif (Ben) was so kind and thorough in presenting this cumbersome material!
