Organic Chemistry I-lectures · Chemistry
I loved this course- I learned how to wrestle through synthesis reactions which is quite difficult.
That I have to fill out this survey to see my grades.
This is a very structured, well-taught entry to organic chemistry. Dr Phillips is dedicated, involved, accessible. The workshops solidify the lecture content and the exams are predictable and very fair to prepare for. This is a definite recommendation to attend this class!
Resonance, reactions with alkenes and alkynes, spectroscopy and types of reactions
pKas, stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics in reactions, functional groups
It was a very difficult courseload but it was a summer course so it made sense. The grading was pretty fair and i don't remember how many hours i spent per week but it was definitely a lot lol.
How to interpret organic chemistry structures at a high level, introductory reactions, nucleophilic and electrophilic chemistry, substitutions and eliminations.
Fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry
- structures and general properties of organic molecules
I learned the basics of organic chemistry and a little of organic ii from some perspective, mechanisms (e.g., bromination), functional groups, pKa and why they're important, acidity and basicity.
