This is a very structured, well-taught entry to organic chemistry. Dr Phillips is dedicated, involved, accessible. The workshops solidify the lecture content and the exams are predictable and very fair to prepare for. This is a definite recommendation to attend this class!

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who needs a detailed instructor to walk them through the challenging organic chemistry content.

Fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry

only for students who are chemistry majors. people who are not fully interested in chemistry will likely find no use of this class.

TA strike ended recitations very early in the semester

I do think the class was a bit heavier workload than it should be. While having longer presentation skills is a good thing, it is a lot of time spent. I think shorter, more frequent presentations would be better. The basics of organic chemistry. Terminology, mechanisms, etc.

Prof. Phillips' workshop-style recitations are excellent. It is an opportunity for extra practice and individualized attention from great TAs.
