I learned the foundations of kinematics, thermodynamics, and basic nuclear chemistry. All the foundations of every single aspect of chemistry.

Chemistry concepts and problem solving skills.

There is no homework, so all exam based grading. 3 midterms and about 6 quizzes. Midterms and exams are all multiple choice and are challenging but fair. I think the course is definitely challenging but the grading system is forgiving with being able to drop 1 quiz and a midterm. A lot of content so I would recommend studying throughout the course. You'll have to work hard if you want an A.

I learned about classical and quantum mechanical models of atoms and molecules and the ways in which they interact.

The class covered ideal gases, solutions, equilibrium, acids and bases, kinetics, and thermodynamics.

This course was pretty instructive in the basics to several biophotonics techniques -- overall a good first exposure (as an advanced undergrad or graduate student) to learning about many modalities that one might not necessarily learn about in a regular classroom setting or might only cursorily inspect over lab research.

The basics of chemistry: thermochemistry, electrochemistry, chemical equilibrium, chemical kinetics, etc.

This recitation expanded my ability to quickly review and practice simple chemistry skills and calculations.

I thought that Wei Min was a great professor. He lectures well and has lots of information on the slides. It was a great introduction to quantum, thermo, kinetics, equilibrium and electrochem. It is true that it Professor Min isn't really available to his students and at time in class can come off as condescending. I honestly just thought it was funny though (even at the receiving end at times) but if you're sensitive maybe just don't answer questions. Overall, I thought the quality of Professor Min's lecturing made up for his slightly detached and rude attitude.
