CHEM UN2493 · Fall 2024

how to do organic chemistry in a laboratory setting

CHEM UN2495 · Fall 2024

-Solid extraction of components -Extraction and evaporation. -Recrystallization and melting point measurement. -Thin layer Chromatography. -Colum Chromatography -UV-Vis Spectroscopy. -IR and NMR.

CHEM W2443 · Summer 2024

It was a very difficult courseload but it was a summer course so it made sense. The grading was pretty fair and i don't remember how many hours i spent per week but it was definitely a lot lol.

CHEM UN2494 · Spring 2026

Learned to synthesize several compounds using new lab techniques

CHEM UN2493 · Fall 2024

I learned how to perform column chromatography, TLC, solid-liquid extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, how to use separatory funnels, how to use the rotovap, and more.

CHEM W2443 · Summer 2024

She is a good teacher of the concepts but terrible in interacting with students. Zero patience and is incredibly mean when students do not instantly understand things in the exact way she wants them. Her teaching is actually pretty great but its a shame that she is so rude and borderline aggressive towards her students. I would suggest not taking any of her course unless you do not think you need office hours.

CHEM UN2493 · Fall 2024

A lot of important techniques in how to handle organic chemistry lab experiments alongside identifying compounds.

CHEM UN2495 · Fall 2024

I learned the major techniques used in Organic Chemistry that were different from my experience in General Chemistry lab.

CHEM UN2495 · Fall 2024

An extension of the general chemistry lab. Mainly, a huge load of coursework, so prepare to make a lot of time for this course. The Professor can be harsh or helpful, it depends on her mood and the day. Count on the TAs. Prepare to spend a lot of time going through Courseworks trying to find material left out of class, and be careful before you ask questions to the Professor because if it is hidden in the Courseworks page you will be met with a harsh, judgmental and unkind response. One friend told me she's left the Professor's office in tears multiple times - this is not learning. So just go into the course with a thick skin and plenty of time to give to it and you will be okay. The TAs are extremely helpful and kind, lean on them and they will be eager to help make this a less painful experience!

CHEM UN2494 · Spring 2026

Orgo Lab was an intense but fun way to learn. It really complemented the lectures well- and was a great way to hear concepts again explained differently.
