I can read, speak, and understand the Greek language leagues better than last semester. I can talk about the past and the future, and hold conversations with other people. I can give orders and directions, and express my feelings, good and bad.
One of the best professors I have ever had!
-a very advanced level of vocabulary that was very useful -critical historical events and politics that affect the shape of Greece today
the course is perfect for you if you genuinely want to learn the language... not so great for an easy A... & i definitely suggest familiarizing yourself with the language at least a little bit before taking the course (i especially recommend learning the alphabet before taking the course) 1 Columbia University: Arts & Sciences Fall 2022 Course: GRKMUN1101_2022-ElementaryModernGreekI : Elementary Modern Greek I-GRKMUN1101_001_2022_3 - ELEMENTARY MODERN GREEK I Instructor: Nikolas Kakkoufa
I perfected my Modern Greek knowledge. Learnt more complex structures and I now can deliver more complex messages.
I learned so much grammar and vocab from Professor Kakkoufa, while enjoying every minute of learning. The cultural aspect/application of the skills we learned was very much appreciated.
To explore issues of grief as they are represented in Literature.
Lots of vocabulary, topics in Greece using the Greek language such as immigration, gender equality, history, etc
Great experience, as long as you are willing to put in the hours! 1 Columbia University: Arts & Sciences Fall 2021 Course: GRKMUN1101 : Elementary Modern Greek I-GRKMUN1101_001_2021_3 - ELEMENTARY MODERN GREEK I Instructor: Nikolas Kakkoufa
