Spoken Portuguese. The class has a good component of both written and spoken Portuguese. Unlike some other elementary language courses, Ana Paula's Portuguese class prepares you to engage in conversations in Portuguese.

In terms of language skills, I learned a great deal of Portuguese grammar and vocabulary, and was able to test out new grammatical forms in context. The exercises and topics of discussion also revealed a lot about contemporary life in Brazil (culture, health, politics, economics, etc.).
