Hebrew for Heritage Speakers I · Middle Eastern, South Asian, And African Studies
easy enough HW's, lots of straight forward quizzes, and a final
15-30 minutes per night, and maybe an extra hour or two before a test. Nightly homework and probably 4-5 tests per semester. One final. Be prepared that the final is during reading week!!
homework every night that takes around 10 minutes, 6 tests but he drops the lowest grade.
i love this dude. funny, relaxed, understanding.
Professor Bersohn is a FANTASTIC professor. After 12 years of Hebrew classes, I have learned more in one semester than I did throughout high school. Maybe even throughout K-12. She is deeply passionate about Israel, Judaism, and the subject matter. She cares a lot about her students and is willing to do anything to help them. She has an edge, which I really enjoy. She keeps class interesting and she keeps students on their toes. Prepare yourself to actually learn stuff in this Hebrew class -maybe for the first time in your life... that's how it has felt for me. I feel really lucky to be able to have her again next semester. Perk: you get class off for Jewish holidays.
Professor Lewis's class was great. He didn't rush through the material and made sure we got it before moving on. He was happy to answer any questions and very patient. The classroom environment was relaxed but we still got through the material. If you listen and class and study before the tests you will most likely succeed!
Ilan Gonnen is a great teacher!!!! Hebrew for Heritage Speakers — if you have any background of Hebrew whatsoever- this is a great course for you! It’s really doable, the only annoying part is that 4 days a week. But I think it’s worth it. Quiz every other week, and final at the end. Really not so bad
Daily homework usually takes 10-15 minutes not bad at all! Frequent quizzes on little material and a final at the end of the course.
Very good teacher who caters to his students needs. If you don't understand something he will wait until you do and continue to explain it. Overall not a hard course. Tests are pretty easy and he tells you exactly what is on them.
