Throughout this course my confidence speaking in German has greatly improved, my understanding of German grammar has also improved, and I learned a lot about different aspects of German culture.
We learned 10 big topics, such as german films, artists, literature, politics... And we covered 7 grammatic topics throughout the semester, including present tense, past tense, passive... Overall, I learned a lot from this course.
This was the perfect course for me in terms of what I was looking for. After having not taken German in a few years, this course allowed me to reacquaint myself with the language, grammar, and vocabulary while discussing a range of topics both directly related to German culture and history and more broad.

This is a great course for anyone looking to get some extra German practice in. It's fun, light, and interesting. This is a wonderful course which several important areas of German grammar and speaking all the while supplementing it with relevant and useful vocabulary. One will learn and review concepts like the passive voice, simple and perfect past, prepositions (including 2 way prepositions), proper declension and word order and many more things along the way. The concepts are applied while studying important topics in German culture and history. For example, one can hope to cover things like contemporary German literature, German elections and political parties, clothing, the school system and so on.
The class is extremely helpful while also not being an inordinate burden in terms of coursework.
