I was forced to take this by the PhD program
I learned about a suite of tools and mathematical principles that undergird the study of economics, especially macroeconomics. Our primary goal was to build up to the dynamic programming used in macroeconomic models (via fixed point theorems), but we also covered topics in linear algebra and stochastic calculus. I especially appreciated coverage of Markov processes, which I had been meaning to teach myself but hadn't gotten to.
Recap of things I already knew + new knowledge on dynamic programming, supermodular games, positive matrices and stochastic calculus.
