A lot! Continuous time dynamic optimization, value function existence and so many tools. Most of all, I love macro and I really enjoyed all of the course contents. The way Kuhn-Tucker consitions were taught, I really saw the intuition! I truly understood the (or so I think!) how to look for shortfalls in a model and what ingredients to add to make them more plausible. This was the main takeaway...Taking a bare bones model, analysing why it isn't really sensisble and making it appropriately richer..
I learnt plenty on monetary economics, topic I've never been exposed to before.
This course covers basic models in macroeconomic growth theory and business cycles using both continuous and discrete time models.

Neoclassical growth model, Real business cycle
The course is divided into two sections: the first one is about the drivers of long-term growth (economic growth over decades), while the second one is about business cycle fluctuations (i.e., why GDP exhibits cyclical fluctuations in growth over the medium term - 5 to 10 years). Hence, the first part of the course teaches you to think about what is truly important for achieving economic development (in some sense, it is more philosophical/sociological) and uses continuous time dynamic optimization, whereas the second part focuses on the Real Business Cycle model using discrete-time dynamic optimization.
