Structure and Style I · Writing (School Of The Arts)
Very heavy. Daily, shorter writings. Longer weekly assignments. Feedback on several pieces every week. Often a thick-ish stack of reading. Occasional response paragraphs. Nitpicky assignments such as indentifying the use of something in one of your own pieces. Many assignments are fun. Longer project (play or short story) during the last 5-6 weeks (Do as much over spring break as possible!).
The usual for S&SI: short story, monologue, scene, poem, plus some readings
Two or three poems, one short story, and a one act (or one scene from a longer play).
Average. Turn everything in on time, review others, but the most important thing is revisions!
Two poems, one character sketch, one monologue, one scene and one short story.
Standard for S&S: 3 poems, 1 dramatic scene, 1 short story (I believe), a final portfolio with a self-reflection
weekly readings and one writing assignment per week, and a portfolio at the end of the semester
Light. 2 poems, 1 monologue, 1 dialogue, 1 short story.
A final portfolio consisting of two poems, a short story, a four-scene play, and several brief exercises.
Not bad at all - A small assignment per week.
