I learned how to critically evaluate my own work and others, and how to articulate these thoughts. Professor Lee opened my eyes to how many different ways one can write a story. She emphasized that you can write something entirely new, if you can't find a way to create something that fits into a pre-conceived category. The course also taught me how to run a workshop, and how to take constructive criticism and use that feedback to hone what I have already written. This course also taught me the importance of discipline and rigor, and how to apply these to my writing outside of this course.
