how to do organic chemistry in a laboratory setting
I learned how to perform column chromatography, TLC, solid-liquid extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, how to use separatory funnels, how to use the rotovap, and more.
A lot of important techniques in how to handle organic chemistry lab experiments alongside identifying compounds.
Everything was explaiend incredibly thoroughly by my TA and teacher, and all my questions were answered without hesitation.
I heard that this section's quizzes are significantly harder than the others.
Lots of new skills, techniques, and a whole lot of fun!
If you are a premed, then yes. Just prepare for a LOT of time spent in lab and lab lecture, and doing assignments for this lab. Get a thick skin if preparing to deal with Prof Siddiqui, the TAs however are amazing, kind and helpful. Lean on them! They'll make sure you get through successfully.
