Discussed various topics in the world of sports business and its relation to economic theory. Guest lecturers from investment banks and sports companies were a highlight, and the class outing to an MLS match made the experience full circle. Final research paper comprises most of the grade.
Coming from a professional sports background, I entered this course with a deep understanding of the sport I played but little to no knowledge of the financial and analytical aspects that underpin the world of sports. This course has been transformative, bridging that gap and providing me with invaluable insights into the economics of sports.
How prevalent economics is in the sports world and the micro economic and the econometric impact in sports
Learnt more about the business models of sports leagues in the US, having an understanding of how transactions are supported in sports, and also about the general economic impacts the sports can have.

This course was super engaging. It was so interesting to learn more about the inner workings and economic decisions behind sports. The guest speakers (this semester included an NBA employee and two sports investment bankers) are a big plus!
