4 Unit quizzes, 4 Projects, Participation (HW and Attendance). Sometimes it felt like a lot but she grades generously and it's clear she just wants you to learn and the grade comes as a second thought.
Daily home works in the workbook that you don't really need to do. 2 articles a week, highlighted and underlined. 3 essays on terrible films, graded insanely harshly. Difficult midterm and final. Not a lot of work but not an easy class.
If you hate spanish, she makes it the least painful. And this school really knows how to pick em'. She has a sense of humor and the quizzes all follow the basic formate which is easy to study for. A straight forward class. No anxiety...!
Realistic (not tons like other teachers) - knowing and understanding the material/topic is more important. weekly chapter work, 6 movie/topic essays, department midterm, final.
2-3 hours a week on the online interactive activities, plus an additional 4 hours of vocabulary/grammar memorization (dispersed throughout the week). Daily homeworks do not take that much time as they focus on grammar practice, but quizzes/exams require you to memorize the vocabulary/common phrases list quite extensively, so adequate familiarity is needed. The grading breakdown is as follows: 25% preparation/participation, 20% projects, 15% final oral, 40% unit quizzes/tests. She is a pretty lenient and fair grader for preparation/participation, projects, and the final oral; however, unit quizzes/tests are multiple choice, so memorize the vocab/grammar well!

Day-to-day workload is light (usually SBG or completing a handout) but she keeps on top of it so you definitely have to do it. Assignments include watching movies (always really interesting) outside of class and writing responses. Final project is going out into a Spanish-speaking neighbourhood and talking with people about a specific topic. With all essays she’ll help you with two rounds of edits, and will only grade the final draft you send in. Easy grader, and gets really excited when you care about what you’re writing or try to incorporate the grammatical concepts she’s teaching. The midterm is hard but I think it’s written by the department because in the essay section she pretty obviously tried to give back points that were lost in the multiple choice section. For the oral portion of the final I think pretty much everyone got an A- or A. I have't taken the written final yet but am sure it will be similar to the midterm.

She does this is bursts. No homework for 2 weeks, then all the sudden a quiz every week and 2 papers, and then another lull, and then the midterm and a paper. It is very sporatic and if the bursts coincide with other big test for you -- it's total hell.
Lots. A lot of homework - worksheets, stories, and 1-2 paragraph essays. It's not too difficult, just time consuming. There are a few quizzes, a midterm, a final, and some graded homework assignments and essays. Go to office hours. Go to class.
