This course was a survey of how people think.

I genuinely cannot put it into words how much I learned. We covered so much wonderful material in depth-pragmatics, semantics, theories of language acquisition, generalizations, theories of concept, theories of world view. It was amazing and I feel like I am better at articulating my thought both for seminar discussions but also for presentations.

This course was a thorough survey of topics at the intersection of psychology, linguistics, and philosophy of language.

Discussion based class, seminars are led by students who present on the papers for that week. We learn about the research being done to understand linguistics and how people communicate through language.

I learned about language and the various ways it affected perception.

This course is listed as a psychology seminar. We did not read a psychological paper until the 11th week of class. I think the content is really interesting, but a background in linguistics is necessary to understand almost anything we discuss. I think this is an amazing LINGUISTICS course, but it is not a psychology class.

It is a popular class for obvious reasons. This class is well organized, exciting, and extremely interesting.

It greatly helps with students' ability to engage with the course material if they have a background in linguistics. I was surprised that intro to linguistics was not a prerequisite for taking the course, given that familiarity with the basics of generative syntax and semantics are presupposed.

Anyone who is curious about linguistics should take this class!!! It doesn't assume a lot of prior knowledge and you will be ok as long as you do the readings and come prepared to discuss.

If you want a relatively easy good grade with an interesting topic, go for it.
