A survey of film history from the 1960s-1990s. We watched films from different countries in order to see how different film movements emerged and evolved depending on the particular context that gave rise to them.
There was a very thought provoking range of films, and how to interpret and further dissect them
By closely watching representative classics from countries including Italy, Poland, Russia and Argentina, we will study the distinctive trends and masters of this era. Th class is a thorough study of the filmmakers of this era.
I learned how to analyze films by understanding formal and narrative elements throughout the course of different movements and countries. Additionally, I also learned how to effectively and concisely write academic papers on the topic of cinema, further enhancing my knowledge and understanding of the medium.
