Broad overview of financial systems and information about the inner workings of bonds, securities and valuation
Light. Quizzes (Chat GPTable), midterm, final, stock trading assignment.
problem sets every 2 weeks, midterm, final. (one warning: final was difficult, did not seem to follow the structure of the problem sets or of the midterm. BUT it was exactly on the topics we went over during review, and the curve was very fair.)
Weekly problem sets (pretty time consuming, but easy if you split the work with friends which you are allowed to do) 1 Midterm 1 Final
four to five PS; trivial midterm and final.
Light... one assignment a week, though assignments only 10% of the grade and are generally easy and quick. 2 midterms and a final worth, 25, 30, and 35 percent.
heavy. Mostly catching up with the lectures and weekly news article presentations and problem sets. 2 midterms 1 cumulative final. 3 problem sets with 5 ambiguous questions.
This course was a great introduction to the vast majority of topics in finance, and does a great job of reaching depth and breadth.
This was a very broad class. We learned about different types of securities and how they are priced, how markets and the people within them function, how macro factors affect markets, and about financial crises. We learned a lot of terminology to do with the financial markets, risk, regulation, etc.
