Everything I learning in general chem lecture.
What we learned in general chemistry was a mixture from gases to acids and bases, entropy, thermodynamics free energy etc. I learned a lot more problem solving skills from this class that I had in the past. I really learned to break down the problem and see what the question was truly asking.
We reviewed all of the information we went over in the chemistry lectures course, though we focused more on the problem (math) side of things (from calculating the total pressure of a gas in ml to calculating the ΔE of a system).
There were many phases to this course, of which a plethora of knowledge, skills, and new perspectives were achieved. The basics covered in Chem I evolved to ideal and non-ideal scenarios for gases, liquids, and solids. A focus on reactions in aqueous solutions manifested a new perspective on dissociation and lessons always carried heat, work and spontaneity. A championing of individuality and collaboration fostered a free flow exchange amongst students and staff helping realise mastery in articulation, intelligence and influence. The overall most important perspective gained was that of inclusion.
Some of the subject matter in Chem II can be difficult and dry but the way that it is presented in this class certainly made it more fun and accessible. Went over the information what was covered during that week's lecture. Given practice problems which were great for the quizzes.
I learned Chem II based Professor Eckdahl's lectures and on Zumdahl's Chemical Principles (8th ed), ch 5, 16, 6 through 10, and 15, in that order for the semester: Gases (5), Liquids & Solids (16), Chemical Equilibrium (6), Acids & Bases (7), Aqueous Equilibria (8), Enthalpy (9), Entropy (10), and Kinetics (15).
Worked through problems that lecture was based on. Rec was vital to preparing for the quizzes
