A great deal! I feel like I've obtained a vast foundation for screenwriting.

I learned the basics of screenwriting including character development and story structure.

I learned different methods and choices to make when evaluating scenes and writing screenplays.

In this course, I really learned how to condense what I want to say. Writing short scripts has made me think about writing as cutting out what I don't necessarily need to have. I have learned that sometimes less is more.

I learned of the critical skills for screenwriting and good tips that will make me a better writer regarding structure and technique.

I learnt the fundamentals of screenwriting! I hadn't ever written a script before this class and so this was an excellent crash course on how to write a screenplay! We studied various concepts, and tricks and tips and then wrote a series of our own scripts. We also studied examples from a range of eclectic sources - student films, screenplays themselves, key screenwriting texts, and a range of clips from american and international films, as well as tv shows. My screenwriting skills I found improved enormously throughout this course. I also got to learn how to be a member of a writers room through giving both verbal and written feedback to my fellow screenwriters- this was such an important skill to develop not just in a university setting but also I feel in a professional sense to have with me now going forward in my career.

I really enjoyed this class. It was very organized very consistent and I love the teacher. This was a phenomenal class and I really hope that this instructor can come back to teach more later on.

I would especially if it was being taught by Katla, she really fostered a positive and supportive environment for us all to improve our skills.
