Felisa Tibbitts

Professor Tibbitts' Senior Seminar course taught me how to conduct research for theses. It also broadened my perspective by showing me how interdisciplinary Human Rights can be.

I learned about various types of research, some key theories from Human Rights scholarship that intersect with other forms of critical theory regarding social justice and society, and I learned from experts who came and discussed with the class about their specific field and how they got involved in this work

The seminar provides students the opportunity to discuss human rights from a variety of disciplinary perspectives and to explore various theoretical approaches and research methodologies. Students undertake individual research projects while collectively examining human rights through directed readings and discussion. Learned a lot more about critical frameworks in human rights and my own professional interests.

Legal analysis, quantitative skills, and other research skills.

I learned a lot about my topic of choice and how to apply frameworks to HR research. I am not sure how much I really learned in terms of research methods as I am a 2nd semester senior. It almost feels like this class (as a research methods class) should have come earlier in the HR major sequence.

I learnt some effective research skills, but more importantly, I learnt about a lot of different career paths in the Human Rights field through the guest speakers.

I have learned how to write a research paper without getting stressed!
