I would say my Spanish speaking skills have improved over the course of the semester, especially when speaking about themes of the class like international conflict and women's rights. With regards to grammar, I learned expanded uses of the subjunctive, the conditional, speaking with a subject change, etc.

I would recommend they take the course with a different professor.

I learned new grammar (past subjunctive, how to use the subjunctive to talk about impossible/improbable situations). I also learned a lot of new vocabulary, specifically relating to women's rights/contemporary issues.
