This was a very fun survey course in twentieth-century Central-Eastern European avant gardes!
The seminar introduced me to 20th century writers, composers, artists and filmmakers from Poland and the former Yugoslavia, with samples of their work and supplementary materials to broaden my engagement with them.
Incredible course, I've learned really good and non-trivial stuff! For me, the coolest feature of this course was its comparative focus - it's obvious that there are similar trends in different parts of the world, and it's very intriguing to see why this is so.
