I learned about a vast array of elements of Slavic Cultures from folklore of statist Russia to fragments of Kosovo songs to socialist realism poetry to Russian cinema to Yugoslav pop art culture to Turbo-folk and hip-hop songs, and more.

Very complex understanding of the history and lineage of all slavic countries and their cultural formations.

Culture oriented as the name suggests. Not very integrated with modern events which I was expecting more of but overall a very good class.

I learned about the literature that reveals how Slavic culture has developed over the few centuries in Eastern Europe. I particularly learned how to analyze primary documents that demonstrate Slavic culture. I learned the most about Poland and Ukraine and their relationship with the USSR and then Russia.

I learned the broader history of the Slavic region, from Medieval ages to the present.

learned lots of Eastern European history (was interesting but didn't always feel very motivated)

I developed a broad understanding of Slavic cultural development in a number of nations/regions over an expansive historical period.

The course is an overview of different phases and aspects of history and culture in the Slavic world. The material is sometimes very very general, and sometimes extremely specific (it depends on which professor is teaching the class period).

We learned about slavic and eastern-European history, literature, movies, art, and politics.

Slavic history from the reign of Peter the Great with focus on Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Poland, Yugoslavia.
