Read primary texts of Latin America and discussed how they fit into the historical context and what issues they dealt with.

I learned about urban history in various countries within Latin America and how colonization affected the creation and development of cities within those regions later in the 20th century

The craft and methods of being a historian -- thinking through issues related to the process of investigating a historical subject and writing about it.

I would recommend the course with a professor that facilitates dialogue between students instead of milking time and disregarding the time spent reading for each class.

At times it felt too much like a undergraduate course, which I didn't particularly like.

We read primary texts from Latin America and discussed how they fit into the historical context and what issues they dealt with.

A lot about both urbanization and Latin America. I enjoyed that the class also included a focus on Brazil, not just Spanish Latin America.

I learned a lot about latin american civilization and how the colonial conquest shaped the nations.
