10% weekly homeworks, time consuming and difficult, but graded generously. 2 midterms, one was very hard, one was fairly easy. Final.
20% HW 40% midterm 40% final There were homeworks once every two weeks which probably take 6-8 hours. The exams are almost identical to the practice exams and overall everything is graded pretty fairly.
7 HWs: 15%. Lowest score is dropped. Midterm 1: 25% Midterm 2: 25%. Final: 35%. The final grade is curved and the professor is pretty generous with the grading.
No required homework, meaning grading is solely two midterms (25% each) and a final (50%).
Four problem sets throughout the semester, sometimes the last problem on the problem sets would be more difficult than the exam questions and would take quite a bit of time (like 2 hours). 2 midterms and one final that were all a bit crunched for time. If you can learn the concepts well, then the exams are not that bad, but if you have difficult learning everything on your own then the exams will be pretty rough.
Kamiar is NOT a professor. He's a grad student. He has a heavy accent, is completely lifeless and dull. He was our TA for W4107 (Statistical Inference). He intentionally kept unreasonable office hours, even though all of us asked for a different time. He said he would be available by appointment but that didn't work either. One time he tried explaining something but didn't make any sense.

I took this class with a very good background in probability, calculus, and analysis. This guy taught straight from the book except he skipped the explanations and proofs so you didn't really understand why things worked. In order to understand what he said, you have to sit in the front and come having read the material. He did not show how to apply the material to problems, and so the hw was extremely painful (thank god for good TA). The tests seemed completely different from what he taught, and were altogether impossible. Though he curved well at the end, this was a painful experience. Also, he was completely inaccessible. Load: hw once every two weeks: ~5.5 hours 1 midterm, 1 final.

Weekly homeworks, midterm, final. All very reasonable. Homeworks may have a couple of very hard questions but if it's too hard he does it in class even. Otherwise, office hours and TA office hours are enough. Midterm and final are like the medium difficulty homeworks.
