I did not necessarily learn hard-facts or concepts, but this was a really great class to be in as one of my first classes at Columbia. It opened my perspectives to other ideas and made me think a lot. This is a great class if you want to learn for the sake of learning instead of learning to take a test.

I learned about many foundational sociological concepts with an emphasis on interpersonal interaction, group formation, and culture (and how these concepts can be applied to the digital world). I also learned how to read efficiently and find the most important ideas in a text.
