Prerequisites: Meets senior requirement. Instructor permission required. The instructor will supervise the writing of long papers involving some form of sociological research and analysis.
I got by without doing most of the readings, but if you skim them it helps during class discussions. I did like how she structured the class, so the assignments build on each other and prepare you for the final paper (12-15 pg literature review).

This class was solidly mid. Of course anyone that takes it is doing it to fill the urban studies req, but it’s not particularly enjoyable. Professor Simms is a good professor and will help you/answer questions if you’re confused.
