1000 point total; all assignments add to 1000 points, midterm 250 points, final 350 points, lots of assignments and group activities in class.
Discussion had one large personal research project and presentation to complete over the course of the semester, which wasn't too bad. She offers many opportunities for extra credit and grades the midterm and final extremely generously. Doing all of the homework assignments can earn you a lot of credit.
Spent 1-2 hours outside of class time. Most assignments graded for completion, including Argos. Homework is marked complete if above 85%, but you are given the opportunity to make corrections after feedback. Assignments aligned with all of FroSci: Weekly discussion post/argos/HW/readings, midterm, final, and final project.
Brief homeworks graded on completion, smart sparrow assignments (completion), participation, final project (all of this is somehow combined into 60%), midterm 15% and final 25%. Grading was not super clear, but this the general Fro Sci policy. Probably 5-6 hours per week including lecture (1.5 hrs/week) and seminar (2hrs/week).

Normal Fro Sci workload One question from the weekly hw graded In terms of grading Dr. Bain is very lenient. He will constantly say it. He wants you to focus on understanding the material rather than worrying about your grades. He is not out to fail you and if you do the work you will do fine in the course.
The workload in Dr. Fitz's discussion seminar is incredibly manageable. Usually you'll have the weekly homework that everyone is required to do, and once every few weeks near the end of the semester you'll have to submit parts of a final project. For the fall semester, our final project was writing a science fiction story, which involved choosing a topic, writing a scientific literature review about that topic, and then submitting a first and final draft. The parts were due every 2-3 weeks and he was very lenient. He is also EXTREMELY lenient with extensions. He says that he will basically give extensions to any person who asks ahead of time-- just make sure you ask before the due date. I had a friend who got a week and a half extension on part of the final project. He is also very lenient with his grading. For homework, he gives you 100% if you answer 85% or more of the questions right. If you get under that margin, he lets you redo the problems you missed to get credit back. He graded some of the standard homework assignments for completion only anyways.
Fro sci is just busy work, but it was all easy and fine. If it's not easy for you he is very available to help. Most everything was graded on completion, the final group project was super easy, and he gives you unlimited extra credit for going to science spotlights.
Usually FroSci assignments so weekly hw as well as a group final project at the end. Some discussions involved talks abt the readings which are a bit long but no presentations on the readings unlike another section.
Super fair grading, wants everyone to succeed, weekly hws & proton lessons like every other class.
