In depth look at the major socio-economic rights as discussed in ICESCR (right to water, sanitation, housing etc.) and other larger human rights frameworks. The readings were very informative and interesting. I also really appreciated that the class was lead through an intersectional lens.
I learned a lot about socio economic. I want to become a doctor and eventually become a board member in a hospital so this class made me realize how messy this world was and is and how important human rights is. We need to help everyone economically and socially. I learned about women rights, housing rights, health rights, etc..
The course offered a variety of challenges and perspective on the questions of socio-economic rights, both theoretical and practical. There is a great variety of case studies - both through legal and more traditional explorations - alongside requiring students to keep in mind the materials transferred from one week to another.
