learner's manual problems were sparse for this section

The learner's manual chunk wasn't as helpful for exam prep, focus on recitation problems and rewatch lectures/take notes

3 midterms, 1 final, lowest thing dropped. Same as bio 1. You do need to do the learners manual if you want even a hope of doing better than a 70 on these exams. How long that takes is up to you.

The second prof for the intro bio II sequence, taught only for the majority of exam 2. Best lecturer by far, but prepare yourself for a completely different exam format. This is the only exam where content memorization comes especially in handy, as there's an entire section of true/false questions with no partial credit, testing your knowledge of a bullet point on one slide mentioned for 5 seconds in lecture. I found her exams slightly more straightforward and less problem-solvey for this reason

The first professor in the Intro Bio II sequence, teaches up to and slightly past exam 1. He was the worst lecturer out of Heicklen and Price with sloppy notes and a monotonous voice, but gave the easiest exams by far. His style of exams relies a lot on graphing and diagramming, and reminded me of Attner's in their wording/style.

"break-neck speeds" yes. fully unintelligible. but i preferred this since he crammed all information into the lectures. like lowkey all i needed to know was on the lectures! wasn't very inspiring as a professor but i genuinely enjoyed biochemistry so it wasn't that bad. saying this now that im out of class but marko polo haha im so funny

This class will make you hate Biology with a degree of vengeance you didn't know you possessed. If you thought bio 1 was bad, bio 2 is so much worse. Bio 1's saving grace was that the practice exams were somewhat reflective of the actual exam. In Bio 2, you can take those practice exams and chuck them onto the NYC subway tracks because nothing on those practice exams will prepare you for the heinous biology wattpad fanfiction of a problem that will jumpscare you on these exams. The lectures for Bio 2 are even harder to follow and take notes on than Bio 1, even more unstructured (which I didn't think was possible) and the content is much more difficult. If you are premed or a major that requires this class, I wish you much more than luck. If you for some reason took Bio 1 but didn't have to and are wondering if you should take Bio 2, then honestly go and take it at this point idk why you are here.

Normal IB workload. But she posted her Learner Manual questions super late which was annoying.

This is a review on her three lectures of Intro Bio 2. Dr. Hiecklen is nice and her lectures were sprinkled with occasional humor. I also found her OH to be helpful, whereas other IB profs I sometimes left feeling more confused than before. However, they can be a bit hard to follow because so much information is condensed into a slide. Also, alot of the slides rely heavily on detailed photos which can be difficult for some. I do not like the way she writes tests. Phrasing is unclear, and what's the point of having practice tests if the questions are even on the same topics?
