I learned about genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
The learner's manual is helpful. The way this class is taught doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The lectures should at least somewhat prepare us for exams. They simply don't.
Biochemistry of proteins, DNA, processes of DNA, cellular replications.
replication/transcription/translation, krebbs cycle, citric acid cycle, amino acids
foundations of bio, specifically the building blocks- felt pretty much like biochem
Molecular structure of carbohydrates and how different chemical bonds between carbohydrates influence structure and function
How proteins are formed from amino acids
How genes are passed from generation to generation (mieosis and mitosis)

First half of the semester was based on biochemistry, then moved into molecular biology for the second half of the semester. Learned about amino acids, peptides, primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary structures, DNA structure, RNA structure, genetics, structures of cells, energy synthesis. The class required the ability to have a deep understanding of concepts covered in the course so that they can be applied to novel situations or questions for exams.
