1 group paper, 1 test, 1 4-page review paper, 1 presentation, 2 group projects. All of the assignments were incredibly easy except for one (but everyone got at least an A). His grading is incredibly lenient and he's very generous with extensions.

I had a really bad experience with Professor Miranda. He is very arrogant as the previous commenter described and it is extremely hard to do well in the exams. He is not very accommodating and he is very obsessed with the papers he assigns to read. Unfortunately, he spends whole class sections focused on the papers, while most of the class understand only parts of the paper as we do not have the required knowledge to understand the paper. His exams are a bit weird as they are a combination of the material presented on his slides (which he actually reads verbatim) and some stupid graphs from the papers he assigns. You can get a decent grade if you put the effort, but in the end, it is not worth it.

I was a little worried about the class because normally JJ Miranda teaches it, but the class overall was very chill. Most of the time, we did not have any work outside of just coming to class. I didn't learn a lot about the field of microbiology, but I learned a lot of fun facts to share with my friends. Attendance is not required and I missed 1/6 of the classes and was completely fine. I'm not sure it's possible to get below an A- if you turn everything in. Sturley is such a sweet man even if he is super disorganized and takes forever to hand back assignments.

mid professor, the reading of papers really takes a crazy amount of time. homework also requires a bunch of time because you have to make sure to participate. she will call you out on if you're wrong and that will be reflected in your grade. I couldn't tell if she liked certain students or not but I think that was reflected in some people's grades, so I guess if she doesn't like you gg folks

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Do not, oh god, please do not take his class. I took his Microbiology class at Barnard and oh man, it was the worst decision I've ever made. First of all, he cannot teach. He does not know how to deliver what he knows to the class. Dr. Rhodes, if you are reading this, please stay in a lab and do research. I don't think you are suitable for a teaching job. Many times, students had to correct him because he had misinformation or did not understand the right mechanism at molecular level. There will be moments he starts stuttering as he teaches certain material- be aware because what he is telling you is misinformative. Usually, professors who can't teach are easy in grading. He is not. He is the combination of the worst aspects a professor can have. Oh god, don't take his class. If you want to sabotage your GPA and learn nothing then yes, take his class. There are two midterms and a final. The level of difficulty of his midterms and final are not hard but you will get points taken off for no reason because he is looking for exactly what he wants. Even if you put what he taught you from the lectures, you will still get points taken off because it is Rhodes. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

JJ has little respect for other professors in the department or the time of his students. His manner in class is arrogant and unprofessional, wasting time on jokes/comments/stories he wants you to laugh at (they're not funny). Perhaps this would be fine if he had a good sense of the material he's teaching, but this is not the case. He would read from the slides and rarely was able to answer questions in class. There was no way to boost a grade in the class outside of exams, which were multiple choice.
