I learned how the material from the lecture tied into contemporary world events. The discussion brought us deeper into the readings while also providing really interesting discussions about how modern day events mirror or reflect past trends from human origins.

well this was the discussion section, so I don't think I really learned anything that new in here. we mostly just talked about information that we already talked about in lecture.
