How to interpret demographics like mortality, fertility, and migration, along with how to contextualize demographics within the context of climate change and sustainability.

I learned a lot about how populations act in turn of climate change, fertility trends, and health in developing and developed countries.

The class if good if you are interested in demography but could go more in depth with sustainability since it is not an intro level course.

I learned a ton on how to use excel and population data anaylsis

I learned a lot about different measurements of population and demographics.

This course provided me with a deeper understanding of how human populations and their dynamics are related to sustainability and sustainable development. We did a lot of work with population changes (e.g. growth, migration, etc.) and their connections with the environment. In assignments, we used data to make visuals and draw conclusions.

I would recommend this course to sustainability-oriented students who are interested in human population dynamics. The content is engaging and it is very useful to walk away with a strong foundation of how to both calculate and apply demographics. However, the five assignments felt a bit dry. The scope for some was strictly related to calculating figures and then drawing conclusions from the figures without any additional background.
