MATH V3020 · Spring 2025

Not a hard class, but she is genuinely one of the worst professors I've ever worked with. Extremely neurotic, intense, and way too over the top!

MATH V3020 · Spring 2025

Content of the class is easy, you learn mostly about basic analysis and group theory - but Professor Krishna makes this way too complicated. If you don't do stuff exactly the way she wants, she will deduct points. She's also just not an expert in this (couldn't understand how strong induction worked). DO NOT TAKE!!!

For Linear Algebra Class: TLDR: Whatever you do do not take this professor. She is the worst professor I could have ever conjured in my entire life. I will most likely end with an A but I still absolutely hate her. Very rude. Not helpful at office hours. Her tests are impossible to prepare for because she asks questions that are so irrelevant. For example, define a line. If you miss one word in the definition it is over for you: as in you get 1/5 on the question for accidentally adding an extra "the". Her tests ask questions about the stupidest things, a real linear algebra class should test an understanding of the concepts and the mathematical calculations behind them. She asks you to memorize stuff and she knit picks points off for no reason. Genuinely, not a single redeemable quality she has. I have spoken to many kids in the class and they feel the same. For the tests, no linear algebra knowledge is needed, but rather take a pen and write a couple defintions and I love Dr. Krishna on your forehead. I also don't want people to think I am salty because I am not a math person (I am a math major and had already taken through ODE in highschool). Furthermore, she is unbelievable petty she will take of points for no reason on your test and then not admit she is wrong but rather conjure up a story on why you lost points. My hero for the semester was the professor before us. Our pr…

MATH UN2010 · Fall 2024

I learned what could be considered the basics of linear algebra.

MATH V3020 · Spring 2025

1 assignment per week ------ 2 hours 2 midterms 1 final 2 late days that can be used for any homework

MATH W4052 · Spring 2025

The homework assignments were not hard but only counted for 15% of the grade. The assessments were not hard but also counted for 15% of the grade. Her exams count for 70% of the grade and are extremely difficult. She doesn’t give you any prep except a generic one sheet of the topics. Some homework assignments were more difficult than others so it’s hard to generalize time spent. I would say to start them as soon as you can because the computation(that you won’t use in exams) can be time consuming. No curve. Just don’t.

MATH UN2010 · Fall 2024

I learned about matrices, vector spaces, linear combination, etc.

MATH V3020 · Spring 2025

The material is not too hard and everything is covered verry well in class. My biggest complain is that if you don't write the proofs exactly how she does in class you won't get the points on exams, but you will get them on the home assignments. I took 2 graduate proof based courses, but somehow my proofs are not good enough for this class... If you already know a bit of number theory DO NOT take this class.

MATH W4052 · Spring 2025

This is for her Linear Algebra course. She gives the impression that she is easygoing. I was super excited to have a female professor as it’s been male dominated for most of my courses at Columbia. Do not be fooled, the bubbly demeanor does not match her grading. I found the class to be harder than it needed to be. Her lectures and homework do not correlate with her exams. Multiple times she was unable to directly answer students’ questions. The content of the course was fine but I found her to dramatically over-complicate the content of the course during testing. As other students said, she focuses on proofs in the exams and at some point she will throw obscure hypotheticals.
