Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much I learned in this course, since this is aimed at helping students write a senior essay, but I'm not sure if I was able to make substantial progress. We read many critical sources, some of which were interesting, but I was left unsure how most of them tied to the overall objective of helping students write a senior essay.

In terms of content, this course was like a more niche, slightly higher level of LCTM. I liked the assigned readings quite a bit. I also got some practice generating and refining research plans.

I guess I leared about the writing process, but I didn't really learn about research methods, which is what I was hoping to learn.

I'd recommend taking on the project of the senior thesis, but might say that this class is not very helpful in helping to achieve that aim (other than it being a requirement).

The course should only be taken by someone who really really wants to write a thesis. If you don't, you're better off getting to enjoy this awesome department and its faculty in the context of a course that has a focus of some kind.

If you want to do a Senior Thesis, but don't know where to start, this is an excellent class. It helped me to have deadlines throughout the semester, where I had to decide what I wanted to write my thesis on, and to start considering, researching, and writing specific parts of the essay. It was helpful to have feedback regularly throughout this process, both from fellow students and Professor Pawel.

This is one of the most useless classes I have been a part of.
