- Partition functions formalism, classical and quantum statistical mechanics, Ising model, phase transitions, renormalization group and a bunch of interesting mathematical tools.
Ensemble theorem, quantum statistics, Landau ginzberg phase transition theorem, Ising model. little bit of renormalization group and linear response.
The course was really very interesting in the second half of the course, especially when we were studying mean field theory, phase transitions and linear response theory.
Thermodynamics basics, classical and quantum statistics - Gases, Ising model, phase transitions, etc.
Learned about the fundamental principles of Statitiscal Mechanics.
Relatively rigorous approach to the derivation of the main thermodynamical relations of the classical and quantum gases. Brief introduction to the mean field approximation, Landau theory and phase transitions.
If you have to take the course, I strongly recommend you just read Pathria instead.
