How much I love research and how cool everybody in the psych/neuroscience field is. This semester we focused a lot on social psychology and topics in perception and it was truly fascinating.

A variety of great research techniques, experimental models, and dealing with cognitive and social biases. The class provides a respectful atmosphere to have critical discussions on sensitive yet necessary concepts at the intersection of science, psychology, and society.

For anyone who is looking to push themselves in their research - this is the answer. Not only are Professors Tottenham and Davachi absolute geniuses in their fields, but they are also so kind, knowledgable, approachable, and respectful mentors that anyone would be lucky to be their student/mentee. Qualifying for honors is truly just a bonus of the STAR experience, it really is a program that is about the journey, as corny as it is to say, and I couldn't imagine it being led by any others.

It's really fun too. Colloquium and lectures/paper presentations/discussions is a very nice experience. I also really enjoy the dinner session after colloquia.

If I meet any first or second year students on campus, I always strongly recommend that they join the STAR program! It really is the best offering on campus.
