I learned that I am not particularly interested in physics or chemistry as a field of study. I also learned that high school level understandings are much higher than I anticipated. As for content, I learned a lot about writing lab reports in tight timelines and persevering through many homework assignments that felt impossible. This class was also able to teach me about how to prioritize work time dedicated to the classes. Because of the sheer amount of work, I often prioritized those graded assignments over actually learning material in lecture and office hours, which felt somewhat wasteful.
I learned the basics of how the vertical atmosphere and ocean work. The class was physics-based. I learned about nutrient cycling in the ocean. I also learned lab report skills.

Other than some basic portions of climate systems and oceanography, everything in this course was new to me. It was certainly the most challenging course I have ever taken, but also very interesting at times.
A lot more math than I expected and how to apply that to different parts of understanding the climate
I learned in details about how climate is influenced by earth's energy budget, atmospheric circulation, and ocean circulation. Skills we touched up upon are mostly technical report writing.
I learned about the overall climate system, including wind, ocean, sunlight, chemicals, and nutrients.
The earth's energy budget, imbalances in the energy budget that drives atmospheric and oceanic circulation, past and future climate.
I learned so much in this course, but most importantly I think, I learned how different factors in the climate affect each other--energy, circulation, chemistry, paleoclimate. Something else super valuable I learned from lab is how to analyze data and create visuals using excel, which I's historically been super daunted by.
The basic elements of the climate system, the physical processes that contribute to the climate we are familiar with. I also learned how to work with TAs and my peers outside of class.
